Muriel is a lady with many talents – from pediatric occupational therapist, author, speaker, missionary but a singer/songwriter all the time. We caught up with her to find out more about her life and music.
When did you first start to develop a passion for music?
The passion for music come from my faith and desire to help people feel the experience of life relationships through music. I have been singing all my life, but releasing music about 10 years. Physical and Emotional freedom is needed in many relationships and the theme for freedom through faith, hope and love is evident in most of the music I release.
Which artists did you listen to while growing up?
I grew up listening to Old School since my father was a manager of big company during the day and a popular DJ as his side hustle. 70s, 80s, 90s with Levert, Stephanie Mills, Prince and Luther Vandross, MJ, and even Madonna, Michael Bolton and then in his low moods Lenny Williams, Teddy Pendegrass, Earth Wind and Fire and Marvin Gaye.
Which artists do you enjoy listening to now?
Today I listen to a variety of music from Afro praise to Gospel. I listen to jazz and even classical at times. I currently do not have a favourite artist.
What music have you recorded and released to date?
New Music Releasing is Endure and When I Continue to Breathe coming September.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to continue to volunteer and give assistance to domestic violence shelters and families with special challenged children. I have Non profit 501c of Helping Hands Outreach Services and proceeds of money through business of music and therapy company go to giving to families and these causes.
I would love for songs to be in the movies, television and so SYNC is my big goal.
I would also love to receive more speaking engagements on these topics and give enrichment on current beneficial implementations that will help these situations.
