Artist Feature: Frankie Rockin’ Smith

Our featured artist this week is Frankie Rockin’ Smith.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a UK singer/songwriter, born 18 December 1996. I am currently touring, doing rock’n’roll clubs, weddings, parties, social clubs and still currently writing and producing new music.

I love the Old School music like rock’n’roll and country music. I like reggae and Motown as well, and I like some pop music such as Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Olly Murs, Robbie Williams – the type of pop music you can listen to.

I live in Surrey and have three wonderful children.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

I started singing when I was around four years old. I always loved music – my dad loved rock’n’roll and taught me to dance to rock’n’roll/50s music like Elvis Presley, Shakin’ Stevens and stuff like that.

I was taught to sing by my mum who loves country music. As the years went on I got better and better, and after seeing my idol Shakin’ Stevens perform at Eastbourne Theatre in 2005 (I was 9 years old) I told myself that’s something I want to do when I grow up.

When I reached 12 I started recording in the studio and writing songs – a couple of these songs appeared on my debut album last year, titled “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger”.

At the age of 15 I started doing charity gigs and then went on to take bookings round pubs, clubs, weddings and parties.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

Shakin’ Stevens, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ricky Nelson, UB40, Michael Jackson and Little Richard.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

My music is fun, it’s full of life and enjoyment. My songs reach a wide age range from kids to people in their 70s and 80s.

I write and produce my own songs as well as sing covers. I sing mostly rock’n’roll but I can sing anything I perform during my shows, and on some of my social media posts I’ve covered music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s – pop, reggae, country, Motown, so in my music there’s a little something for everyone.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I’ve recorded 2 official albums called “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger”, which contains 10 tracks written by myself and released in 2023.

Recently I’ve just released a new album of 14 tracks written by myself called “Bring Back Rock’N’Roll”. I’ve had 6 single releases so far which have done really well for me. Two of the singles this year reached number one in the International Charts and I had 2 number one singles last year too.

Where can we find out more about you?

I have an official website at and you can also find me on YouTube, Facebook and Spotify.
